Dr. Jawid Ahmad Baktash
Computer Scientist
Greetings!
I am Jawid Ahmad Baktash, a dedicated professional with a passion for research and education in the field of computer science. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of contributing to various projects and initiatives aimed at advancing technology and fostering innovation.
During my doctoral program, I was a research assistant at the University of Ryukyus, where I delved into topics ranging from formal methods integration with software engineering models to cloud-based dynamic routing and feedback evaluation with Event-B. My doctoral research culminated in completing my Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Intelligent Systems Engineering from the University of Ryukyus in 2017.
Following the completion of my Ph.D., I joined Kabul University as an associate professor at the Faculty of Computer Science. In this role, I had the honor of instructing both M.Sc. and B.Sc. courses covering diverse subjects such as data communication and networks, cloud computing, machine learning, distributed systems, software project management, and software quality assurance. Additionally, I had the opportunity to contribute to the 5G LTE project as a foreign researcher at the University of Ryukyus in Japan.
I served as the academic and technical advisor to the Minister of Higher Education of Afghanistan and later as the General Director of Science and Innovation in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Seeking further academic and research opportunities, I spent a year as a researcher at Avignon University in France and THI Ingolstadt in Germany. During this time, I was a member of the LIA laboratory, focusing on natural language processing and exploring novel machine-learning techniques for speech recognition in low-resource languages.
